Back in the swing of things!

Welcome back!  I trust everyone had a great Christmas break.  We had a fun share time Monday morning and it sounds like all the students had a great break.  The students all shared about their favorite gift.  I am amazed at the technology these students know how to use.  Many students received gaming systems and told me all about their new games.  My how times have changed!

This week we will be learning about the letter Oo and our two new sight words are this and that.  Six weeks testing begins this week and report cards go out next Thursday.  Our class will have some work displayed at WalMart, United and CISD Central Office this week so be sure and check that out!

Wow how times flies!

I am amazed that it is already Thanksgiving!  We have been in school nearly 70 days.  The students have fallen into a groove and are making great progress.  This last week headed into Thanksgiving we have been studying Native Americans and turkeys.  The students have learned what different tribes ate, the type of houses they lived in, and about how they dressed.  What did you think about their turquoise necklaces?!
The new sight words are in, it, and is.  Your student has been introduced to 13 sight words!   Sight words really are key to early reading so please continue to review these at home.
Thank you all for your participation and cooperation in the report card conferences.  The connection between school and home is so important.  I tell the other teachers all the time that I really do have the best parents.  You have all been great to work with and really care about your child's education.  Thank you so much!
